Name: Daniel

Where are you from?

I am from California.

How did you learn about pathway?

I heard about Pathways from my brother Alex.  He currently attends BYU-Idaho and was talking about how the school offers the program and I thought “Hey I might want to check this out”.  I looked at the program and realized that it was affordable and something I can do while I was working at my current job.

Why did you decided to join pathway?

I decided to join Pathways because I want to be a Nurse later on in life.  I want to get my AA degree and get accepted to a nursing program after I get my Associates Degree.  I have gone to some community colleges and taken classes but I can get a university education just by being apart of Pathway program.

How has pathway helped you in your life since you first started?

It has helped me get back into the swing of things when it comes to going to school again.  I haven’t been able to go to school because I have to support my family.  It has also helped me with getting a better education in the future to be able to provide for my family.  It can also help me with being able to teach my children the gospel so that I can answer their questions as they get older.

Why did you not attend a local college from where you are?

I haven’t been able to go to school where I live because I just moved from Alabama with my wife.  Getting school in California is not easy and their is always a chance that you won’t be able to get the classes that you need each semester.  You are having to fight to get in for every class where as if you attend Pathway, you are able to get the classes that you need to get your education.

Will you be transferring to BYU-Idaho in the future?

No, I will not be attending BYU-Idaho because it is not feasible to do so.  I am planning on moving to Utah next year so their is no need to transfer up to Idaho to take my classes.

Would you recommend Pathway to anyone?  Why?

Yes, I would recommend Pathway to others because it helps you ease back into school. The teachers are very friendly and willing to help you with anything you may need.  Pathway also provides you a spiritual aspect to learning where as other Universities don’t allow it, or don’t have it.  You need to have balance in your life and pathway provides that for you.
