Name:  Charles Osborn

Bio:

I was born in Fresno, California but right after that my folks moved to Utah where I was raised in Roy, which is near Ogden. I am the oldest of three kids in my family and I have five awesome step siblings.  I served in the Argentina Neuquen Mission from November 2009-2011. My dream job has always been to be a pilot from a young age.

I received an associate’s degree from Weber State University from 2012-2014 and I also obtained my private pilot’s license and instrument rating during that time. I joined the Navy in 2014 and I am now an aircraft mechanic. I enjoy playing the guitar, hiking, playing sports, flying airplanes, and being with my family and friends.

25

Where are you from?

How did you learn about pathway?

I learned about pathway through my friend Jake. He told me about it in 2014 and I didn’t think that I would ever do it because I had just joined the Navy. I had received my associate’s degree from Weber State University and my grades weren’t too great, and I had to give up pursuing a career as a pilot due to lack of money. Learning to fly is very expensive.

Why did you decided to join pathway?

I decided to join the pathway program because in order to be a pilot in the Navy you have to have a bachelor’s degree in any field. So I was trying to figure out how I was going to do that before I passed the age of eligibility which is 27. Then at church one Sunday our bishop announced that there was going to be a question and answer type meeting about pathway in our stake. I felt a strong desire to go and I knew that this was a great opportunity. Since pathway was so affordable and I would be moving toward my goals, I couldn’t say no.

How has pathway helped you in your life since you first started?

Pathway has helped me grow closer to God through studying the scriptures at institute and helping me see that the Lord does want me to have a good education and have opportunities that I might otherwise miss if I didn’t finish college. I have a new and positive attitude toward life-long learning that I didn’t have before. I have confidence that my future will be bright.

Would you recommend pathway to anyone?

I would absolutely recommend pathway to anyone. It has been one of the smartest investments of time I have ever done.
